Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Location: Camden, NJ
Start Date: Mid-August 2025
End Date: Early October 2025
Schedule: 3237.5 hours per week (MondayFriday)

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly organized Licensed School Social Worker to join our K-5 team in Camden, New Jersey , for a short-term maternity leave position . The School Social Worker will play a critical role in supporting students' social-emotional development, facilitating special education services, and promoting a positive school climate. This temporary position runs from mid-August through early October 2025 .

• Provide Individual and Group Counseling:
  Deliver targeted and responsive counseling services to students in grades K5, with a focus on social-emotional regulation, behavioral support, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.

• IEP Case Management:
  Oversee the coordination of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students. Duties include managing timelines, facilitating IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Collaboration with Staff and Families:
  Work closely with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and families to develop strategies that support student success in both academic and social-emotional domains.

• Documentation and Compliance:
  Maintain accurate records and case notes, complete required documentation for IEPs and counseling services, and ensure confidentiality in all student matters.

• Advocacy and Resource Connection:
  Act as a liaison between school and community resources. Connect families with social services, mental health supports, and additional wraparound services as needed.

• Crisis Response:
  Provide immediate support in times of crisis and contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide safety and crisis intervention protocols.

• Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 5th Grade

• Student Population: Includes general education and students receiving special education services

• Caseload Focus: Students with IEPs and counseling mandates; students needing behavior/emotional support

Required:

• Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW)

• New Jersey LSW (Licensed Social Worker)

• New Jersey School Social Worker Certification

Preferred:

• Direct experience with IEP case management

• Familiarity with special education laws, procedures, and best practices

• Experience working in urban school settings

• Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus, but not required

Youll be part of a collaborative student support team that includes school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, special educators, and counselors. A structured handoff and onboarding process will be provided to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of services.
