The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview: Prepares and stains cytology specimens that are to be screen by the cytologist. Maintains work list logs and corresponding documentation of all specimens received. Enters requested data into Pathology Computer System. Files slides and logs, enters charges and provides assistance wherever needed.

Qualifications:
Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Biology and other science classes preferred.
• Successful completion of all orientations.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Part Time
• Afternoon Shift (1230-430p or 1p-5p)

Essential Functions:

• Accurately coverslips slides without air bubbles or excessive mounting medium.
• Accurately prints labels, prints and prepares worksheets, copies requisitions and prepares these for review by the cytologist.
• Accurately stains slides with the appropriate stain and performs stain maintenance as outlined in the established procedure.
• Cleans work area, staining dishes and instruments at end of shift.
• Completes all QC sheets and required documentation at end of shift.
• Enters specimens and patient data into pathology computer system.
• Files completed cytology slides in accordance with established procedure.
