Security Guard

Staff Management Group is seeking a Warehouse Security Guard for our client in Linden, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 1st Shift: 7:30AM - 5:PM
• Monday - Friday
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $16.50 / hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Security Guard to join our warehouse team. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and protection of personnel, property, and information within our facility. The Security Guard will monitor premises to prevent theft, unauthorized access, or violations of company rules, and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies.

Responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, managing access control, documenting daily activities, and collaborating with law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed. This position contributes directly to creating a secure environment that supports operational efficiency and the well-being of all stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Control access to facilities by verifying credentials and managing visitor logs
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing first aid or contacting emergency services as needed
• Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and maintenance issues accurately and timely
• Collaborate with team members and external agencies to enhance security protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid security guard license or certification as required by state regulations
• Basic knowledge of security operations and emergency response procedures
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings
• Strong observational skills and physical fitness to perform patrol duties

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service
• Certification in first aid, CPR, or emergency medical response
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control software
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends and holidays

Relevant Skills:

• Vigilance, attention to detail, and physical stamina for effective patrols and monitoring of security systems
• Strong communication skills for interacting with visitors, staff, and emergency responders
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid for immediate response to incidents
• Familiarity with surveillance technology to detect and prevent security breaches proactively
• Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to maintain a safe and secure environment
