River Kids Daycare – Toms River, NJ

Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person

River Kids Daycare in Toms River, NJ is looking for a qualified and experienced Daycare Director to lead our childcare center.

We are seeking someone who is professional, dependable, organized, and confident in managing daily childcare operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in a licensed childcare setting, understand the importance of NJ licensing compliance, and be able to support staff, communicate with families, and help maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for children.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the childcare center

Supervise, support, and guide teachers and staff

Maintain compliance with NJ childcare licensing requirements

Keep child, staff, and licensing files organized and up to date

Manage classroom coverage, staffing needs, and daily schedules

Communicate professionally with parents and families

Assist with tours, enrollment, and family onboarding

Support classroom quality, curriculum, and child safety

Prepare for inspections and help keep the center licensing-ready

Address parent concerns, staff concerns, and daily center needs

Work with ownership on center growth and improvements

Qualifications:

Must meet NJ childcare center director qualification requirements

Bachelor’s degree required under NJ director qualification pathways, especially in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field

Experience working in a licensed childcare center required

Prior daycare director, assistant director, supervisor, or childcare leadership experience preferred

Knowledge of NJ Office of Licensing regulations strongly preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to manage staff professionally and maintain a positive work environment

CPR/First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain

Must be dependable, professional, and able to take initiative

Compensation:

$25–$30 per hour, depending on experience, education, NJ director qualifications, and childcare leadership background
