HIM Lead Application Analyst

Job Title: Application Lead – Health Information Management (HIM)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced healthcare IT professional for a 6-month temporary back-fill assignment as an Application Lead – HIM . This leadership role is designed for a subject matter expert who can ensure the stability and continuity of critical Health Information Management systems. You will provide technical oversight, mentor application analysts, and serve as a key bridge between IT, clinical partners, and operational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Mentorship: Coordinate team workflows, prioritize tasks to meet service levels, and provide technical guidance to application analysts.
• Systems Expertise: Act as the primary SME for HIM applications, managing day-to-day operations and serving as an escalation point for complex system integrations.
• Workflow Optimization: Perform fit/gap analysis, document current and future-state workflows, and design/test system enhancements.
• Project Support: Lead small- to medium-scale initiatives, including integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Operational Continuity: Triage incidents and change requests while participating in a second-level, 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in IT or Healthcare preferred.
• Experience: 6–10+ years of experience supporting healthcare applications or clinical systems.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience supporting Epic HIM modules is highly preferred.
  • Experience with OnBase workflows.
  • Experience with Epic Gallery projects (implementation, optimization, or upgrades) is a strong plus.
• Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly language for clinical partners.
• Certification: Willingness to obtain application-specific certifications or proficiencies within 90 days if required.
