We are looking for an experienced Merchandising Manager to join our team in the Old Bridge, New Jersey area. In this role, you will oversee the strategic planning and execution of grocery category initiatives, driving sales growth, profitability, and competitive advantage. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with vendors, members, and store owners while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and achieve category objectives, including sales targets, gross profit margins, and promotional income.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional programs with vendors and brokers to enhance market competitiveness.
• Plan and execute weekly promotional campaigns with accurate sales forecasts and competitive pricing strategies.
• Prepare presentations and materials for committee meetings, including ad reviews, promotional pricing, and new product proposals.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and category performance to inform strategic decisions.
• Maintain and update product assortments, ensuring accuracy in item setup, costs, and data management.
• Manage vendor billing processes, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely error resolution.
• Conduct regular business reviews with vendors to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Attend industry events to negotiate deals and secure promotions beneficial to the organization.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail merchandising or a related field.
• Strong expertise in category management, sales strategy, and promotional planning.
• Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret market trends.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with proven success in vendor and broker management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Familiarity with competitive pricing strategies and gross profit margin optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Must be bilingual Spanish.
- Must have international experience.
