The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking a compassionate and professional Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to primarily support adults with disabilities (ages 21 and up) who work the community, receive vocational training, participate in recreational activities and social events, and/or reside within our programs. This position plays a vital role in promoting independence, pro-social skills, and adaptive functioning to enhance quality of life and community access.

The BCBA will provide behavioral assessment, program development, and ongoing support for individuals with developmental disabilities living in apartment-style homes within a residential assisted living community. The role includes collaboration across social day programs, vocational training, and community-based activities. Additionally, the BCBA may assist clients of various ages in local religious schools, summer camps, and work closely with our disability services teams to ensure a collaborative, person-centered approach. The BCBA will also be responsible for supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), training staff, and leading program development initiatives.

Working as part of a team, this person will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Design and oversee skill acquisition programs targeting adaptive, social, and vocational skills.
  • Provide direct and indirect support in residential settings, day programs, schools, and vocational environments.
  • Supervise RBTs and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and competency checks.
  • Develop and deliver staff training on ABA principles, behavior support strategies, and data collection.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including disability services, educators, and family members, to ensure consistency and meaningful outcomes.
  • Monitor progress through data analysis and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Support inclusion and participation in community activities, religious schools, and summer camps.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and state/federal regulations.

  • Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey and a clean driving record
  • Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire.  
  • Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities  
  • Shall submit to drug testing and receive a clear drug screen prior to employment per Stephen Komninos Law.  
  • Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.  
  • Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).   
  • Must be vaccinated for Covid -19 or meet criteria under both DHS/CDC guidelines.    
  • Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.  
  • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and problem-solving with individuals with disabilities and their families.    
  • Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.

Required Certification: BCBA Certification

Required Education & Experience: Minium Master’s degree with at least 1 year experience

Qualifications:

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in residential and community settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in ABA and person-centered planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Experience in staff supervision and training required.
