The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality low cost innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brighams unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings including primary care specialty care behavioral and mental health and urgent care both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts New Hampshire and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy imaging cardiac testing and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.

Our After Hours Call Program aims to provide virtual visits telephonic support and clinical guidance to our patients when our primary care practices arent open (evenings nights weekends and holidays). This program was initially comprised of Advanced Practitioners but due to expansion we are now incorporating RNs into our model!

We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the After Hours Call Program! Our per diem requirement is as follows:

Minimum of one weekend per month (16-hours minimum). Available shifts are between 7:00am to 10:00pm.
Holiday commitment: 20 hours/year including one major holiday

Due to the remote nature of the role we ensure that our employees receive required technology and training to be proficient and independently productive in all job responsibilities regardless of work location. Employees are responsible for designating a workspace within the remote work location that is private safe ergonomic and free from distractions for all hours worked.

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care assessment of patients clinical decision-making regarding nursing care assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner providing individualized nursing care and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate detailed reports and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor record and report symptoms or changes in patients conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess plan implement or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions.

Education
Associates Degree Nursing required or Bachelors Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse RN - State License - Generic - HR Only required

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 3-4 year required

Experience in a Primary Care/Family Medicine setting is required

Epic experience is required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
