Purchasing AgentThe Purchasing Agent is responsible for identifying and selecting the most suitable suppliers based on reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency. This role involves researching and evaluating vendors, negotiating pricing, and ensuring materials and services meet Seren’s operational needs and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Research, source, and evaluate vendors to secure high-quality materials and services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Request and analyze quotes, proposals, and bids to ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Obtain and review product specifications to ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor order status and keep management informed of updates or delays.
- Track shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast purchasing needs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree or related experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and basic engineering principles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems.
- Ability to read, write and interpret work instructions in English.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to secure favorable pricing, terms, and agreements.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to compare suppliers, pricing, and data to make informed decisions.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication with vendors and internal teams.
- Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in purchase orders, contracts, and inventory tracking.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address supply chain disruptions and identify alternative solutions quickly.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using ERP systems, spreadsheets, and procurement software.
- Collaboration: Works effectively across departments to align purchasing with business needs.
- Process improvement mindset with the ability to increase efficiency.
- Results-driven and deadline-oriented with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Adaptable and responsive to urgent or short-notice requests.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Work Location :

- Must be able to reliably commute

Salary Position
- Pay Range: $55k-61k yearly
