Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced NoSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of NoSQL database clusters in a UNIX/Linux environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in NoSQL platforms (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, CockroachDB, MemSQL) and UNIX shell scripting , with a focus on automation, performance tuning, and production support in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain NoSQL database clusters in Linux environments across development, QA, and production.

• Design and automate database deployment and maintenance using UNIX shell scripting .

• Debug and tune database performance; optimize operational and CI/CD processes.

• Support database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives.

• Utilize DevOps tools like BladeLogic (and ideally Ansible ) to automate database administration tasks.

• Provide database access, support schema changes, and ensure role-based security.

• Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and production support to ensure database availability and efficiency.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while proactively enhancing database performance and resilience.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of UNIX/Linux systems administration experience.

• 2+ years of experience with NoSQL or SQL database technologies , including administration and operational support.

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following:

  • MongoDB, Cassandra, MemSQL, Redis, CockroachDB, TigerDB

• Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and maintenance.

• Experience managing NoSQL clusters, including:

  • Node management, replication, multi-DC setups, performance tuning

• Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies , role/access management , and database monitoring .

• Strong communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders.

• Experience in high-volume, enterprise-grade environments is highly preferred.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with BladeLogic , Ansible , or other DevOps tools.

• Previous work with CI/CD environments and automation of NoSQL deployment pipelines.
