Pay: $23-26/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Requirements:

• 1+ year of insurance verification required
• 1+ year of patient billing management software experience preferred
• Experience with EMR (office utilizes eClinicalWorks, NaviNet, Helio)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT guidelines
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities:

• Obtain authorizations for all diagnostic imaging, orthotics, trigger point injections, EMG studies, and hyaluronic acid injections directly or by submitting documentation to facility or vender – may provide authorizations for other areas, as needed, as directed by manager
• Contact patients as necessary to advise on scheduling
• Obtain injection medication from pharmacy for all commercial insurances and physicians in practice
• Scrub and submit all physical therapy claims along with all supporting documentation
• Copay allocation of physical therapy claims
• Submit physical therapy authorization requests as backup as needed
• Ensure that the verification of patients’ insurance benefits is completed and updated
• Notify patients of deductibles, authorization approvals and co-insurance due
• Regularly call insurance companies to follow up on patient status and claims
• Explore other payment options with patients when needed
• Keep sensitive patient and company information confidential at all time
• Contact patients to obtain any outstanding information
• Learn and understand all aspects of Revenue Cycle responsibilities and participate in cross-training session
• Coordinate authorizations for patients with PIP/workers compensation claims
• Provide administrative support to workers compensation department
• Liaison to attorneys regarding patient status and claim
• Cross train to support and perform all aspects of back office
• Cover other assignments when requested by management
