Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 Base + Commission + Bonus + Benefits

Overview

A growing independent insurance agency in New Milford, NJ is seeking a relationship-driven Personal Lines Producer or Account Manager to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated insurance professional who enjoys both new business development and client relationship management . The agency provides qualified inbound leads , allowing you to focus on closing business and deepening client relationships while still leveraging your personal network for additional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and develop personal lines opportunities with new and existing clients via phone, virtual meetings, written communication, and in person
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive follow-up, timely and accurate quotations, and responsive service
• Actively round accounts and recommend coverage enhancements to increase account penetration and retention
• Leverage agency-provided qualified leads along with personal networking and referrals to grow the book of business
• Secure optimal coverage and pricing by marketing accounts, processing quotes, and binding coverage
• Present policies and educate clients on coverage options, exposures, and pricing
• Support renewal strategy and retention efforts through proactive client engagement
• Anticipate and respond to client service needs in a timely and professional manner
• Track and report sales activity and key performance metrics to achieve production goals
• Collaborate with internal team members and provide mentorship or technical guidance when appropriate
• Maintain continuing education requirements and stay current on carrier products, market trends, and industry changes

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty license required (NJ preferred)
• 2+ years of personal lines and/or commercial lines insurance experience in a sales or account management role
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated success in insurance sales with strong closing ability
• Solid understanding of personal lines coverages, underwriting, and rating
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Highly organized with strong time management and ability to work independently
• Proficiency with agency management systems and standard business technology
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
