Senior Scientist, Process Chemistry

Job Description

Our Company is seeking exceptional chemists for positions within our Process Chemistry organization located at our Rahway, NJ site.

A successful candidate will be joining a vibrant group of innovative scientists with broad deliverables ranging from the design of clinical supply routes for drug candidates to driving innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems in the discovery phase. As a process team member, this role will focus on the research and development of chemical processes to ensure scalability and reproducibility across preclinical to clinical drug substance deliveries, contributing to GMP clinical manufacturing and process demonstrations of multi-modality drug substances such as small molecules, macrocyclic peptides, and bioconjugates in our internal facilities. A successful candidate is expected to apply cutting edge methodologies to synthetic route design in order to enable medicinal chemistry research and accelerate the delivery of target compounds to fund pre-clinical and clinical studies

In addition, the candidate will be expected to remain current with the latest synthetic methodologies, drive innovation, apply new concepts to continuously improve group capabilities, and be active in the external scientific community via publications and external presentations.

The ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis, and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry, along with a proven track record of solving complex problems. The candidate must be highly self-motivated, possess strong experimental skills, have excellent written and oral communication abilities, collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams, and be able to demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.

Specific-responsibilities-will include the following:

• Act as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy.
  
• Develop innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems across a diverse portfolio of projects and modalities.
  
• Design and develop efficient processes for clinical campaigns, this involves extensive reaction design and optimization to ensure the scalability and reproducibility of our processes.
  

Education

• PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or related field achieved no later than June 2026.
  

Requirements

• E xperience in methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis, and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry.
  
• Must have conducted outstanding research that may be shared during the interview process.
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  
• High-level leadership and interpersonal skills.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is
$114,700.00 - $180,500.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
