Packaging Mechanic

Summary: Ability to identify troubleshoot and correct various I/O configurations, control circuits, and PLC systems in addition to the variety of different technologies and equipment such as basic machine shop equipment skills such as grinder, drill press, sander, and basic hand tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to diagnose technical problems with and without schematics/drawings along with reading comprehension skills required.
• Processes basic knowledge of PLC systems, basic computer knowledge, and literacy of Windows applications.
• Ability to perform solve issues and work independently coupled with a desire to work in a team environment.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and Root Cause Analysis to minimize packaging equipment downtime and drive performance improvement of the production line.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and temperature control systems like heaters.
• Knowledge of servomotors, AC drives, DC drives, PLC I/O and components, 24V control systems, photo-eye, and proximity sensors.
• Full format changeovers to packaging lines efficiently and effectively Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Minimize quality and safety risks by suggesting and making improvements to quality systems and machine guarding adhering.
• Communication and update teams on issues, resolutions, and status of assignments/projects.
• Changeover manufacturing equipment, respond to emergency situations, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical problems.
• Responsibilities include training new machine operators, and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Skills required:

• Basic math knowledge
• Basic to general mechanically inclined
• Able to use basic mechanical tools.
• Adhere to safety.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
