Manager Technical Sales NAM

Required qualifications and experience
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in technical sales, R&D, or ingredient applications
- Proven experience working with B2B ingredient portfolios, ideally including dairy proteins, hydrolysates, or GOS
- Strong experience in technical sales and value-based selling
- Understanding of innovation dynamics in the B2B ingredients market
Technical expertise
- Knowledge of Adult Nutrition or Early Life Nutrition markets
- Experience developing or supporting applications such as protein bars, RTDs, shakes, and performance nutrition products
- Ability to translate customer needs into technical ingredient solutions
Leadership and personal competencies
- Experience managing or mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong commercial mindset and customer orientation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in matrix and cross-functional organizations
- Proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating in a dynamic commercial environment

Vacancy description
As Regional Technical Sales Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of the regional Technical Sales & Application team while remaining actively involved in technical sales activities. Acting as a “first among equals” leader, you will guide the team, strengthen collaboration across functions, and help translate innovation into successful market applications.
Key responsibilities include:
Driving innovation and technical market introduction
- Lead the regional implementation of innovation roadmaps and ingredient launches
- Develop and support regional application strategies that demonstrate ingredient performance
- Translate customer requirements and market insights into input for global R&D and marketing
Supporting commercial growth
- Provide technical expertise to support lead generation and opportunity development
- Work with sales and marketing to increase market penetration across the EMEA region
- Apply value-based selling approaches to identify and validate customer needs
Customer engagement
- Support regional customers through the technical sales team and directly engage with key strategic accounts
- Organize training sessions and workshops to help customers optimize ingredient usage and applications
- Build strong technical partnerships with customer teams
People leadership
- Manage and develop a team of Technical Sales Specialists and Application Developers
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on continuous learning and improvement
- Coach and mentor team members to build capabilities aligned with regional and global strategy
Stakeholder collaboration
- Serve as a key link between regional technical sales, commercial teams, and global R&D
- Collaborate closely with marketing, quality, regulatory, and product management teams
- Maintain and expand external industry and customer networks
Knowledge management
- Ensure regional teams stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and application insights
- Share knowledge and insights across the organization to support continuous innovation and improvement
