Finance and IT Project Manager
Job Description: Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to drive technical solution implementation and provide essential support to the Leadership team in the US. The role involves taking charge of departmental financial management and efficient vendor coordination. As the co-pilot to the US Leadership team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful financial and contract management. Reporting to the EU Head of Financials & Budget, this position will focus on the management of technical solutions, financial tracking, and vendor management in US. Work closely with stakeholders including but not limited to finance, procurement, IT legal, compliance, QA. Requirements: Financial Oversight & Budget Management · Excellent financial management skills, with the ability to forecast, track, and manage project budgets effectively using Smartsheet. · Finance Forecasting and Resource Planning: Manage finance forecasts and actuals and optimize resource planning to achieve project objectives effectively. · Preparation and presentation of Quarterly and Annual Finance Packs for Senior Leadership Team and the wider organization. Vendor & Procurement Coordination · Exceptional vendor management capabilities to foster successful collaborations. · Financial and Vendor Management: Oversee financial aspects and vendor interactions within the US department, ensuring effective budget management and successful collaborations. · Being the main point of contact for all procure to pay contracts, ensuring a smooth and successful process for all stakeholders. Finance Project & Systems Implementation Support · Experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. · Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to overcome project challenges. · Finance Technical Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation of financial technical solutions, working closely with relevant teams to ensure seamless integration. · Problem Solving: Proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum and achieve desired outcomes as a subject matter expert. Stakeholder Collaboration · Excellent communication and leadership skills to co-pilot the US Leadership team effectively. · Comfortable of presentation, training others, and meeting facilitation. · Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. · Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and achieving operational excellence. · Operations Excellence: Collaborate with the head of project management and operations excellence to ensure the team's smooth operations, including meeting management, tracking development plans and timelines, managing scope, and mitigating risks. · Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders such as finance, procurement, IT, legal, compliance, and QA to ensure smooth project execution. Skills & Experience: Finance and/or accounting background with strong problem-solving skills. Detail oriented with the ability to report and reconcile numbers accurately. Certified public accountant (CPA). 5+ years’ industry experience as Finance Manager (preferably in a global pharmaceutical) Basic knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of clinical research Smartsheet experience is a plus but experience in a similar tool is essential. Experience in procurement and financial tools, such as SAP required. Strong knowledge and experience in financial management, proven negotiation and facilitation skills, a team player and self-starter Proven track record addressing complex project deliverables, data analysis, summary, dashboard reporting. Project management professional (PMP) certification and/or training in project management is a plus but not required. The Person Ability and flexible to work remotely with worldwide team members across cultures and time zones. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written A real self-starter who demonstrates a strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, cross-functional, and global teams to achieve shared goals. Education Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree (preferable) in related fields. Accounting qualification is required (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent). Additional Information This is a remote position with flexibility, but candidates must be located in or able to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. Regular collaboration with European stakeholders (including the EU Head of Financials) is required. Travel may be minimal or not required, depending on project needs.
