Position: Garment Repair Specialist

Location: Piscataway, NJ
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (plus overtime as needed)
Pay: 21.00

Role Overview: This role focuses on delivering high-quality repair and restoration services for clothing, shoes, and accessories. The ideal candidate will have experience with sewing, stitching, garment care, minor repairs, and cleaning using equipment such as steam machines.

This position is perfect for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, is comfortable in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment, and enjoys working with textiles and materials of all kinds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform precise sewing, stitching, and hand-sewn repairs on garments and textile products.
• Conduct minor clothing repairs, including patching, hemming, zipper replacement, and reinforcement.
• Use garment care equipment such as steamers and specialized cleaning tools to refresh and clean shoes, leather accents, and fabrics.
• Assess items for repair needs and recommend appropriate action (repair, restoration, cleaning).
• Maintain high standards of quality control, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ensure workspace and equipment are properly maintained and organized.
• Communicate with team members and customers (when needed) to clarify repair needs and timelines.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in sewing, stitching, garment care, or minor repair work, including familiarity with both hand-sewing and machine sewing.
• Comfortable using garment care equipment (e.g., steam machines) and hand tools for cleaning and repairs.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong English communication skills (speaking and writing).
