Cashier/Host
About the Job:
Are you ready for a dynamic, fast-paced environment that pleases and grabs patrons from every sense? Where you are transported to a luxurious dining experience like no other around? Then the Chit Chat Diner in West Orange, NJ is the place for you! This is NOT your typical diner.
We are looking for extraordinary Hosts/Hostesses that can give our diners a unique and memorable experience, to the highest of standards. If you are looking for a challenge and your next thrilling career move, then we want you!
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting guests.
- Registers.
- Taking food orders to go over the phone and processing them in a timely manner.
- Processing dessert orders for servers (dine-in and to-go) and for customers directly at the register.
- Sitting guests in a timely manner and not overloading servers.
- Setting up tables for large groups.
- Keeping the register area clean at all times.
- Cleaning menus.
- Changing specials throughout the day in menus.
- Making sure restrooms are stocked accordingly.
- Must be able to lift.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend.
Qualifications, characteristics and skills to be successful:
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a great, positive energy, that can communicate effectively and clearly with guests and staff.
