Location: Bridgeton, NJ 08302 (On-site)
Compensation: $50 to $52 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time or Contract

We’re seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss, as outlined in their IEPs. You’ll collaborate with school teams, families, and specialists to help students access curriculum, develop communication skills, and achieve academic success in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals.

• Support communication and linguistic development through spoken language and/or sign language.

• Collaborate with Audiologists, Speech Specialists, and Child Study Teams to assess and address student needs.

• Modify and adapt curriculum to ensure full access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students.

• Monitor and maintain audiological equipment (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants).

• Provide in-service training for teachers, staff, and students on communication strategies and inclusion best practices.

• Promote positive self-esteem, advocacy, and independence among students.

• Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and collaborative planning sessions.

• Recommend environmental and instructional adaptations to optimize learning conditions (lighting, acoustics, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience working with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students

• Must pass a criminal history background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related discipline

• Prior experience collaborating within school-based multidisciplinary teams
