Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Technical Assistant for the Office of Information Technology. Among the key duties of this position are the following: - Troubleshoots hardware and software issues while able to work independently.
Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week 19.5 Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. FLSA Nonexempt Position Salary $16 - $20/hourly Offer Information The final salary offer will be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to troubleshoot Audio/Visual equipment in a classroom environment.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software (Windows OS & Apple iOS Desktops/Laptops), and computer networking fundamentals.
- Ability to follow instructions as well as work independently.
- Ability to provide support in an extremely dynamic environment.
Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment - Ability to climb and work on a ladder if requested and the ability to lift and support up to 50lbs.
Special Conditions - Available to work evenings Monday through Thursday.
- Must have access to reliable transportation as needed for on-campus support.
