Job Title: Mechanic (Packaging)

Compensation: $28 - $33 per hour (based on experience)
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 2nd shift - 2:30PM to 11:00PM

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Packaging Mechanic to support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, and maintain packaging machinery and equipment
• Perform daily setup and breakdown of packaging, bottling, and filling lines
• Set up, flush, and adjust fillers, crimpers, press stations, labeling machines, inkjet coding systems, and wrapping equipment
• Monitor production to maximize output and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues
• Perform routine maintenance and prepare equipment for upcoming production runs
• Ensure all safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met
• Verify materials align with Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements
• Document daily performance, maintenance, and any issues encountered
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Technical school degree or 5–7 years of related experience (or equivalent combination)
• Hands-on experience with packaging equipment such as Groninger fillers, PKB filling systems, JG volumetric fillers, Kalix cartoners, Sollas wrapping machines, labeling systems, and checkweighers
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance skills for complex packaging systems
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
