Job Description
The Phlebotomist provides expertise in blood draws and specimen preparation. Their ability to put patients at ease and obtain sufficient samples with minimal discomfort to patients across a wide demographic is critical to our commitment to high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Understand and follow all physicians' orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature in appropriate containers.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Wear appropriate attire for the role.
- Attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work schedule includes Monday from 12pm to 6pm and Tuesday to Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with exposure in office physician settings while representing a larger lab and network.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Sparta,NJ.
