Job Description
Crown seeks Software Engineers to support development of next generation global positioning systems and inertial navigation systems. Work may be performed on-site (preferred) in Pine Brook, New Jersey, or at Crown's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. If staff are not located on-site, travel to the NJ facility may be required a few times per year. Candidates with experience ranging from junior to senior levels are sought. This role is ideal for software engineers who enjoy working in a technical and dynamic environment and have a passion for delivering robust software solutions for aerospace and defense applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development of Software Systems: Design and develop embedded software, applications, and system-level software for use in aircraft, missile, land, and space products
- Customer Requirements and Assessment: Review and interpret customer requirements, both technical and programmatic, and assess the level of effort required to fulfill them in the software domain
- Requirements Management: Decompose and manage lower-level software requirements for systems including embedded software, application software, and test software
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other relevant field
- 4+ years of experience in software design, development, and integration with a focus on aerospace, defense, or related industries
- Experience with FAA, EASA, or military certification processes and standards ( DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E ) is required
- Master's degree is a positive discriminator
- Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR restrictions
- Must communicate well and work with the various teams internally and externally
- Proficiency in software development tools such as C, Python, SCADE modeling
- Experience in embedded systems, safety-critical software, and new product development
- Requirements management using DOORS, use of problem reporting and revision control tools, SVN, SharePoint
- Configuration management, Collaboration etc. via git, docker containers
