Senior Network Administrator
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting the network infrastructure. This role installs, configures and monitors LANs, WANs, internal and external systems, and multiple network segments. This role is a part of a team that is responsible for the entire network infrastructure. The NFI infrastructure is composed of 10,000+ users at over 300+ locations internationally, operating 24x7x365. This position reports to Sr. Manager of Network Infrastructure and Operations. Services.
Responsibilities:
Provides network engineering and/or network administration to our multiple Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks and the support of a 10,000 user environment.
Provides senior technical support for complex problems within the team and environment.
Responsible for performance management and capacity planning for all supported platforms, along with providing monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for all responsible environments.
Interacts with field operations to troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
Interact with other IT groups to implement new network hardware or technologies and resolve problems.. This may include architecture, network sizing, configuration, installing network infrastructure to standards and working with vendors as needed.
Identify and lead improvement opportunities.
WAN, LAN and Wireless (RF) Support
Monitor and troubleshoot internal and external data networks and RF infrastructures.
Perform service restoration in event of issue including working with providers to ensure timely response to problems.
Serve as point of contact to internal and external customers through problem resolution
Perform ongoing operational activities such as problem management, user assistance, and training as necessary
Monitor and ensure adequate bandwidth for company as a whole
Provide off-hours support as required to perform job functions and ensure adequate delivery of services
Network Design
Participate in plan, and design activities to support and monitor infrastructure
Understand customer requirements and planning for ongoing capacity needs.
Remain current on emerging technologies and their possible applications within NFI’s infrastructure
Hardware/Software support and deployment
Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices in support of design
Perform ongoing upgrades and patches as required
Security Awareness
Understanding of security impact on network infrastructure.
Helps to ensure actions and adherence to company guidelines
Assist in development and modification of security guidelines
General Job Functions
Assist in development of departmental policies and procedures
Define and assist in deployment of process improvements
Assist in continuous development of support services procedures and staff
Mentor and assist staff in professional developmental and training
Qualifications:
Degree - BA / BS preferred
CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent certification
At least 7-10 years’ experience configuring and supporting complex campus and datacenter networks
5+ years in a senior role, architecting, configuring and supporting enterprise firewalls from such as Cisco Firepower , Checkpoint, or Palo Alto preferred.
Experience installing, designing, and supporting Cisco FirePower solutions
Experience installing, designing, and supporting network access control solutions such as Cisco ISE, or Aruba Clearpass
Experience with SD-WAN platforms such as Velocloud, Viptela, or Silverpeak
Experience with cloud networking within and between public clouds such as Amazon, Azure, and GCP.
Experience with scripting languages such as Powershell and Python

Hands on experience with the following technology:
Cisco, Aruba, Juniper hardware and software
Office productivity tools including Excel, Word, and others
Management and monitoring tools including Solarwinds, and PRTG
Routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF
QoS experience for voice, video and data
Familiarity with other enterprise platforms such as storage, database, Linux, Windows Server, etc.
Physical Labor Requirements include ability to lift and rack network equipment
Occasional travel to other facilities may be required
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $133,055.00. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
