Sheet metal fabricator and CNC machine shop in Mahwah, NJ seeking a motivated and responsible individual to perform various machining duties. Must have experience with operation of machinery in a manufacturing production environment and be effective multitasking.

Position Overview:

The Machine Shop Assistant will support our production team, ensuring the smooth operation of our process flow. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves various functions of general shop help as listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery – Bridgeport tapping machines, CNC Mill cycle changeovers, brushing sheet metal, saws, blast, etc
• Processing of incoming material deliveries; weigh and process scrap material
• Basic preventative maintenance of equipment – changing of filters, routine cleanings, etc
• Misc - washing, tumbling parts, various duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience: minimum 2 years operating relevant machinery in a production manufacturing setting
• Knowledge of machining processes and tools
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

Work Environment:

• Repetitive tasks in a manufacturing production environment
• Standing for long periods in a manufacturing environment
• Work independently and efficiently to maintain time sensitive production schedule
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Schedule: Monday through Friday – 6:00am to 2:30pm OR 7:00am to 3:30pm
