The Residential Manager will supervise and be responsible for the operation of a residential program within the community and is responsible for its general maintenance, management and programming. Residential Managers guide and assist the individuals served by The Arc Gloucester in developing and improving independent living skills. This person is expected to manage employees working in the residential program.
Position : Full-time, non-exempt. Typical hours are M-F 8am - 4pm with ocassional 4-midnight. The position requires additional evening, overnight & weekend shifts, as needed. Locations available throughout Gloucester County.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that the program meets all requirements of DDD licensing and other Regulatory Agencies that impact on the program.
- Ensure that program staff carries out their job responsibilities in a manner consistent with The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures, Licensing/Certification standards and program-specific policies and procedures.
- Serve as the Plan Coordinator for individuals residing in their own home. As such, the Plan Coordinator or designee performs the following tasks: completes the ISP interview form, updates professional services, coordinates a meeting date with interested parties, invites interested parties, insures consumer participation to the best of his/her ability, insures the ISP document is completed and collaborates with case manager and other professionals.
- Ensure that all foods and other necessary supplies for the operation of the program are purchased and available as needed.
- Ensure monthly menus are prepared and posted in the designated location; specialized diets are followed and prepared correctly.
- Responsible for auditing medication administration and completing medication competency assessments. Oversee medication administration/documentation process. Administer medication as required.
- Ensure a neat, clean interior and exterior residence.
- Responsible for maintaining individual records of residents living in the program including all information as required by licensing agency. Individual records will be maintained in writing and electronically (such as Therap).
- Responsible for scheduling all residential staff and volunteers and keeping accurate records.
- Ensure that proper reporting of unusual incidents is recorded through UIR/GER’s as one is made aware of them. This includes the proper notifications as per the various laws including the Stephen Komninos’ Law.
- Provide to his/her supervisor a monthly accurate report of each resident’s program activities, i.e., medical evaluations, social functions, admissions, discharges, etc. Ensure activities e.g. church, shopping, recreation are scheduled and carried out. Ensures activities per activity calendar (e.g. church, shopping, recreation, etc.) are scheduled and carried out.
- Forward to The Arc Finance Department, through the Team Leader, a monthly accurate statement accounting for all program expenditures and billing vouchers.
- Participate in the hiring, evaluation and termination process.
- Responsible for program staff annual performance appraisals. She/he is also responsible for the training and tracking of program staff as needed and required by Agency/Residential Policies and Procedures including current CPR and licensing for self and staff.
- Review individual’s books, finances and medications at the residential location. Set up books for admissions; assist with completing residential focus groups and compliance for DDD licensing. Assist with training new managers/assistants as needed.
- Ensure that all staff must comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations including but not limited to the Stephen Komninos’ Law and Danielle’s Law.
- Employee must cooperate with The Arc Gloucester, DHS licensing staff, Division Staff and Developmental Disability staff and other funding sources in any review, investigation or inspection.
- Participate in QEP and CQL monitoring activities.
- Comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations, including any COVID-19 vaccination mandates & policies
- Complete initial and on going trainings
- Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and be at least 18 years of age
- BA/BS degree and/or experience in the Human Services or related field - preferred
- 3 years of experience of previous employment in the field of Developmental Disabilities and supervision
- Knowledge of normalization concepts and experience in home management
- Active, non-probationary driver’s license in good standing, with 5 or less points
- Successfully pass initial and maintain ongoing State/Federal Criminal Background checks, CARI checks, Central Registry checks and drug screens
- Must be flexible and available to take scheduled rotational on-call and work occasional weekends and evenings
- Certain programs require experience in a medical setting.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this position, either with or without a reasonable accommodation the following are required:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate a computers, phone and other relevant technology.
- Talk, hear and communicate in person, over the phone and using other technologies
- Physical duties, including but not limited to carrying, driving, general lifting (at least 50 lbs.), assisting with transferring and lifting of individuals, pushing and pulling (resistance of at least 25 lbs.), bending, cleaning, and climbing stairs
- Ability to assist other individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLS) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLS)
