SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager of Student Communications, the Coordinator of Student Communications assists in social media, email marketing for current students and families, managing and mentoring a team of students on Red Hawk Life and Hawk Squad in the production of social media posts, stories, reels, TikToks, and videos for social media channels. The Coordinator also manages a family portal, CampusESP, and assists in scheduling photoshoots and postings while measuring growth on all social media channels. This position does require some weekend and evening hours. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Plan, write, approve and compile all family communication materials through the family portal, CampusESP, including email newsletters, announcements and social media content. Manage and develop content for the family Facebook page.
- Build relationships with campus partners across the University to ensure content for families is timely, exciting and filled with opportunities.
- Present to families at orientations to ensure they are familiar with CampusESP and connected to the University. Assist the orientation team with other family initiatives including but not limited to Family Breakfast or Family Weekend.
- Develop digital media strategic plans for department social media accounts including Red Hawk Life, Hawk Squad, Pebbles and Red Hawks of Montclair State University.
- Prepare reports on social media marketing activities; compile, summarize and analyze data. Develop findings, conclusions and recommendations through Falcon.
- Consult and meet with the Manager of Student Communications regularly to brainstorm new initiatives and resolve problems/concerns.
- Assist with hiring, training and development for student teams Red Hawk Life, Hawk Squad, Team Pebbles and Team Rocky.
- Manage appearances for Pebbles, our University Pupscot.
- Work closely with the Social Media Manager to aid and collaborate in the production of student-centric social media content for the main Montclair State University accounts.
- Assist in publishing emergency communication on social media accounts and on CampusESP if necessary. Uphold and ensure compliance of the Montclair State University brand on social media accounts and the family portal.
- Maintain integrity and appropriate confidentiality of department operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Communication, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in social and digital media, marketing development, analysis or related field.
- Experience working and communicating with families.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Experience in data and production management using Google Drive and Google Analytics.
PREFERRED: - Experience working in Higher Education.
- Experience with CampusESP.
- Experience in social media management platform, Falcon.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or related software.
- Experience reading and writing HTML and CSS including familiarity with WordPress. Ability to work independently and lead a growing program.
