Position Information Recruitment/Posting Title Human Resources Preparer Job Category Staff & Executive - Human Resources Department UHR- Human Capital Management Overview Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Human Resources Preparer for University Human Resources. This position, under the direct supervision of the Director Human Capital Management, reviews actions requested by departments to be submitted for HCM processing; completes data input through templates for daily, individual, salary and data actions for faculty and staff from hire through termination; and submits to the HR Approver for review and submission through the HCM Unit or directly to the Payroll Database. Among the key duties of this position are the following:- Reviews documentation for compliance with federal and state regulations, university policy, and bargaining units' contracts before entering the request into the workflow.
- Monitors workflow and follows up to ensure the completion of tasks within deadlines.
- Maintains and updates all databases and programs needed to execute actions and track and report on activities.
- Ensures good customer service and the confidentiality of work, databases, and communications.
- May assist with the review, update, and documentation of new procedures for work.
- Runs reports, tracks data, reviews, and works to ensure accurate submissions within deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Effective data entry, analytical, mathematical, statistical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication, collaborative, and client service skills; attention to detail; flexibility; the abilities to follow direction; understand and apply contract terms and federal and state laws; set priorities, meet deadlines; research; create action plans; work independently, collaboratively, and within a team; and maintain confidentiality.
- Requires computer literacy to include Internet and web-based systems and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Excel and Word.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management systems, university HR and payroll processing, and with MS Access.
- PeopleSoft HRMS experience.
