Town and Country Veterinary Services is seeking a well-organized, compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a full-service small animal practice.

We are seeking an experienced technician with strong technical skills: venipuncture, catheter placement, restraint, performing lab tests, digital x-ray positioning, dental prophylaxis, treatment, surgical technician skills, knowledge of IDEXX machines, client education, and a positive attitude.

The right candidate will support the team during examinations and medical treatments, and provide direct care to patients. This individual must be familiar with the proper restraint of dogs and cats for evaluation and procedures. Individual must be familiar with proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques to ensure our facility is safe for our clients.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

• Greet clients and obtain pet medical histories
• Obtain contact information
• Assist the doctor during examinations, surgery, and other procedures
• Diagnostic skills, collecting and processing of blood and urine
• Sterilize tools and restock examination and operating room(s)
• In-house Idexx Machines
• Digital Radiology - understanding patient positioning
• Proper restraint techniques
• Knowledge of vaccines and guidelines
• Pharmacology and knowledge of heartworm and flea tick medications
• Venipuncture, IV Catheter placement
• Triage, routine and ER visits - accurate knowledge of vital parameters
• Surgical preparation and equipment knowledge as well as maintenance
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
• Dentals
• Sterilization of surgery packs
• Prepping patient for surgery
• Assisting Doctor during surgery
• Client education
• Assist reception with phones
• Punctuality
• Maintain a clean and orderly clinic
• Laundry
• Cleaning runs/cages
• Avimark a plus
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multi task
• Perform tasks under pressure
