We are a rapidly growing law firm in a modern, state-of-the-art facility, seeking a highly experienced Paralegal with deep expertise in tax, trusts & estates, and litigation to join our Woodcliff Lake office. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for an experienced professional to manage complex matters and support the firm’s continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

• 5+ years of law firm experience in tax, trusts & estates (required)
• Exceptional organizational, writing, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

• Estate Planning & Probate
  • Draft complex wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and living wills
  • Prepare probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and Surrogate Court filings
  • Oversee estate administration from asset marshaling through creditor claims and distributions
  • Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, and beneficiaries
• Estate & Tax Inheritance Compliance
  • Prepare and file Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706), NY Estate Tax Returns (Form ET-706), and Gift Tax Returns (Form 709)
  • Prepare and file New Jersey Inheritance Tax Returns and related waivers/forms (e.g., Form IT-R, IT-L-8, IT-L-9)
  • Collaborate with accountants and tax professionals to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Estate Litigation & Contested Matters
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and trial binders related to contested estate, trust, and guardianship matters
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and electronic court filings (state and federal courts)
  • Provide trial support including deposition prep, document organization, and exhibit management
• Professional Skills
  • Proactive, analytical, and resourceful with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proven capacity to independently handle a high-volume caseload
  • Deliver outstanding client service with discretion, professionalism, and a strong record of building trusted relationships
