Operator Technician

Staff Management Group is seeking a Operator Technician for our client in Hillside, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 2PM - 10:30PM
• 3rd Shift: 10PM - 6:30AM
• Plus Overtime
• 6-day rotating schedule

Pay Rate:

• $22 hour

Job Summary:

We are hiring Operator Technicians. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate and maintain KHS, SMI, and Douglas packers to keep production running smoothly. From troubleshooting equipment to ensuring product quality and safety, you’ll be at the heart of our packaging operations. Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor assigned production machinery to maintain consistent product flow.
• Perform equipment startups, shutdowns, and changeovers safely and accurately.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maximize efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and promptly notify a Supervisor or Mechanic.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure safe working conditions at all times.
• Verify correct and legible coding on bottles, cases, and pallets throughout the shift.
• Perform required sanitation procedures, including CIP, external foaming, and sanitizing.
• Ensure all quality guidelines and customer standards are consistently met.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and perform assigned physical tasks as needed.
• Complete all operator logs, quality checks, and production reports neatly and accurately.
• Communicate effectively, especially during shift hand-offs, to ensure continuity of operations.
• Follow all GMPs, Food Safety Guidelines, and company safety rules.
• Report any urgent Quality or Food Safety incidents immediately to responsible personnel.
• Provide coverage for other Machine Operators during vacations or extended absences (overtime may be required).

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to follow safety, quality, and operational procedures consistently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
