Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Cardiology Outpatient Clinic

Location: Hackensack NJ

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 40 Hours/Week

Shift: Day Shift Monday Friday 8:30 AM 5:00 PM

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $17 $20/hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and administrative skills experience assisting physicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting and proficiency with EKGs cardiac monitoring devices and patient triage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms instruments and supplies for patient visits and procedures
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and clinical procedures
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history accurately
• Perform clinical procedures after competency validation including:
  • EKGs
  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
  • Audiometry
  • Titmus testing
  • Urine Drug Screening (UDS)
  • Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)
  • Phlebotomy
• Apply and monitor Holter and event monitors as directed
• Triage patient phone calls and communicate patient concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within office systems
• Support front office functions including billing and collections processes as needed
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
• Deliver compassionate culturally sensitive patient care to diverse populations
• Maintain a clean organized and safe clinical environment

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• One of the following certifications required:
  • CMA-NHA
  • CMA-NCCT
  • CMA-AAMA
  • RMA-AMT
  • RMA-NAHP
  • AMCA
  • NCMA
• Minimum 24 years of Medical Assistant experience required
• Experience with:
  • Vital signs and patient triage
  • EKG procedures
  • Holter monitors and event monitors
  • Assisting physicians in outpatient settings
• Strong computer and data entry skills required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
