A Day in the Life of an Underwriter

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Lending, in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations, underwriters are responsible for reviewing and making decisions on consumer and home equity/HELOC loan applications by analyzing financial data, structuring loans to align with the best interests of both the borrower and the credit union, and identifying cross-sell opportunities to deepen member relationships. This position involves h eavy inbound and outbound call management.

Qualification Requirements

Educational/Training Requirement:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree highly desired.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience with consumer and home equity lending required.
• 5+ years of experience processing consumer and home equity/HELOC closing packages required.
• Credit Union experience is preferred.

Work Schedule

This position will be scheduled 35 to 40 hours per week with mandatory rotating Saturday hours. This is NOT a remote or hybrid position. Previous applicants need not apply.

Lending Department Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Saturday : 9:00am to 1:00pm.
