Field-based technician responsible for installation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and configuration of low-voltage electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion, and fire alarms) at client sites. Role includes responding to trouble tickets across a territory, documenting changes, performing upgrades and testing, driving a company vehicle, and occasionally being on-call and performing physical tasks (ladder/climbing, lifting). Requires 1–2 years’ security systems experience, valid driver’s license, familiarity with IP/networking and hand tools; company provides vehicle, equipment, training and benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Securitas Technology is seeking technically minded individuals possessing experience with low voltage electronics specializing in electronic security solutions. Our teams are responsible for providing service on Securitas Technology products at client sites. The position provides client contact for all post-installation problems on security systems and equipment, as well as, special project work, when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Respond to trouble tickets within an assigned field territory to ensure application uptime and system performance
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle and manage inventory
  • Interact with clients to address service needs on site in a professional manner and adhere to safety and cost guidelines.
  • Work individually and as a team to diagnose and resolve application issues
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks to maximize application availability and identify system faults.
  • Perform routine configuration changes (user permissions, application configuration, etc.)
  • Document all system modifications through a digital change control tracking system
  • Produce quality technical documentation describing the conceptual and quantitative facets of system deployment, intended for both a technical and non-technical audience
  • Perform pre-deployment end to end testing of all upgrades and major modifications
  • Perform on site installations of software upgrades and major modifications or programming of systems and equipment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of experience installing and/or servicing intrusion, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems.
  • A valid state driver’s license, without restrictions, is required.
  • High School diploma required or equivalent
  • Familiarity installing and troubleshooting low voltage equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial access control, CCTV, burglary alarm, intrusion systems, and fire alarms
  • Mechanically inclined with an ability to work with hand/power tools and multi-meters
  • Ability to be scheduled for on-call hours for emergencies
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Working knowledge IP addressing equipment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Certifications in enterprise grade CCTV and Access Control systems a plus
  • Climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height
  • Carry items up to 75 pounds
