Weighmaster

OVERVIEW

Weighmasters play a major role in how our customers feel when they enter and leave the facility. They are the first, last and sometimes the only Mazza Recycling employee a customer interacts with. The Weighmaster is an ambassador for Mazza Recycling. Weighmasters must have knowledge of all Mazza Recycling service offerings. The Weighmaster must be able to apply their training to correctly document Scale transactions. The Weighmaster works alongside the Scale Department and reports directly to the Lead Weighmaster.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet and instruct customers in a client-centric manner
• Verify permits and licenses, ensuring vehicles meet regulations
• Collect and verify all regulatory paperwork
• Manage accounts and answer questions
• Collection of tipping fees
• Check email on an hourly basis during regular office hours
• Communicate discrepancies and issues, as well as make suggestions for improvement
• Cross-training with Receptionist to ensure appropriate staff coverage (see Receptionist job description for further responsibilities)
• Aid in reconciling customer accounts and issues with the Lead Weighmaster and Billing Specialist (Scale)
• Cleaning of interior and exterior of assigned scale

• Scales 1-6
• All responsibilities above

Weighmaster III (Requires Weighmaster Certification from Office of Weights & Measures):

• Scales 1-6
• Cross-training with Mulch Window to ensure appropriate staff coverage (see Mulch Window job description for further job responsibilities)
• Train Weighmaster and Weighmaster I staff
• Find and correct mistakes made by Weighmaster, Weighmaster I and Weighmaster II

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US
• Weighmaster certification from Office of Weights & Measures
• Previous customer service experience
• AMCS preferred, but not required
• Computer proficient, including Microsoft Office and data entry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to work outdoors
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends, if necessary
