Purpose:
The Commercial Data Sciences Team is looking for an outstanding scientist who is passionate about crafting, developing, and fielding data science solutions that drive impact for patients and for Johnson & Johnson. There are many ways to explore and analyze data, and this powers the enthusiasm and passion of data scientists at J&J as many business units are eager to use the data to build business value.

This role supports Strategic Customer Group (SCG) a key function of our Innovative Medicine business. We work on the most pressing business priorities across J&J’s portfolio. Responsibilities include leading commercial use cases across Trade, Supply Chain, Compliance and Contract Analytics focussed on in line as well as launch brands, in addition to multiple Generative AI use cases such as agent systems and AI learning. This role needs someone who stays on the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, data science, and advanced analytics research through novel project execution and development of algorithms that influence decisions at various levels in the organization. A “big picture” mentality and passion for impact is a must.
The role requires both a broad knowledge of existing AI-type algorithms and the ingenuity to invent and customize when necessary. You will lead and deliver projects and develop solutions that in turn deliver insights. There is a high focus on building strong inter-team relationships, networking with emotional intelligence to best meet business requirements while being flexible to unexpected changes. You will work with data translator teams, non-technical business partners, and highly technical development teams.
You will be a member of a highly collaborative and supportive team, which is part of a broader dynamic and accomplished organization that supports multiple therapeutic areas and commercial functions.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Ph.D. with 4+ years of experience, or M.S. with 7+ years, or B.S. with +9 years of relevant pharma experience, with degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Informatics, Medical Informatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
Solid understanding of machine learning platforms/environments
Experience with practical applications of AI-type algorithms, including machine learning techniques such as regression, decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, neural networks, and/or Bayesian models.
Familiarity with large datasets, handling of healthcare relevant datasets and understanding of data analysis workflows.
Proficiency with one or more programming language such as Python or R.
Proficiency with SQL.
Experience delivering on data science projects using Machine learning and AI technologies, data mining and/or text mining.
Experience with AI Agentic Systems
Familiarity with working in a cloud-based technology stack.
Sophisticated communication skills and ability to translate complex methods and results to diverse audiences.
Experience leading complete end-to-end development teams
Strong ability to establish relationships with business partners and understand their needs.
Consistent track record to deliver end-to-end machine learning projects from understanding business requirements, development, deployment, and management of post-launch operations
Experience with vendor management – ensuring timelines and expectations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Commercial Pharmaceutical business.
Experience in digital media and direct-to-consumer marketing
Experience building, deploying, and maintaining AI Agentic Systems
Familiarity of commercially available healthcare data sets.
Experience with PySpark.
Familiarity with usage of Generative AI for productivity improvement.
Familiarity with building and deploying Generative AI solutions
Familiarity with open-source and gated/paid model landscape
Experience with Product Management

The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $137,000 and $235,750 USDAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
