Assistant Maintenance Mechanic

Staff Management Group is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Clifton, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

• 1st Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM

Pay Rate:

• $20 / hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable Assistant Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance team by performing preventive maintenance and assisting with the repair and upkeep of machinery and equipment. This role is responsible for helping ensure equipment runs efficiently by troubleshooting issues, making adjustments, and supporting repairs as needed. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on machinery and mechanical equipment
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying root causes
• Adjust, repair, or replace machinery and mechanical components as needed
• Support maintenance team with equipment inspections and upkeep
• Help ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Assist with additional maintenance tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma required
• Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in maintenance work
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift and handle equipment as needed.
