This Opportunity

FPA is looking to hire an energetic and motivated full-time Construction Inspector in Wall Township and Camden, NJ . The candidate will work in the field under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. Inspection duties will include construction observation and special inspection, material testing, tracking quantities, preparation of daily field reports and coordinating with FPA’s project team. Successful candidates will be assigned to construction sites for many types of developments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Providing daily on-site inspection of construction work to ensure the project is in compliance with plans and specification.
  • Observe field work to ensure workmanship and materials used meet standards.
  • Monitor and prepare daily documentation recording materials, construction activity, equipment, and manpower on various project sites.
  • Conduct tests to verify material properties for various construction materials including soil, concrete and asphalt.
  • Review construction plans and compare with observations to verify that materials and equipment conform with contract documents.
  • Keep organized and up to date project files

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry or performing construction inspection
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Candidate should be motivated, organized, and willing to work in the field
  • Reliable transportation to and from construction sites in varying locations.
  • Able to traverse construction sites
  • ACI Grade 1 Field Technician or Certification to operate nuclear density gauge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • New Jersey DCA Certification is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (or Current Enrollment) from an accredited school of Civil Engineering
  • Associate’s degree (or Current Enrollment) in Engineering related curriculum
  • EIT and/or NICET II Plus Certifications
  • NJSAT Lab or Field Testing

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $45,000 to $75,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education, skill set and location.
