We are actively searching for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant / Legal Secretary to join our team in New York / New Jersey . Our legal administrative assistants play a vital role on our case teams and are respected for their ideas and contributions. This is a completely remote position .

Position Responsibilities

As a remote Legal Administrative Assistant/Secretary, you will assist attorneys and paralegals in New York and New Jersey with documents and workflow necessary for the smooth running of the firm.

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence
  • Filing documents in New York, New Jersey, and federal courts
  • Preparing and maintaining charts with hyperlinks for documents
  • Creating and saving documents and emails to a document management system (iManage) in accordance with firm policy
  • Calendaring legal due dates in CompuLaw
  • Scheduling meetings and other calendar commitments
  • Making travel arrangements and processing expense reports
  • Processing client disbursements
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic case files
  • Supporting overall Bowman and Brooke administrative needs by assisting team members where needed

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to obtain documents from online court directories
  • Ability to work overtime when the need arises
  • Heavy computer use

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of legal experience required
  • Defense Litigation experience required
  • Demonstrated employment stability
