Job Responsibilities:
- Drive and transport samples and personnel around the NY Metro Area using company vehicles (Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, and similar).
- Complete all pickups and deliveries as assigned; ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Keep daily/weekly driver logs and maintain mileage records.
- Monitor and follow the maintenance schedule for all company vehicles.
- Provide regular updates on your activities and location to the manager for work coordination.
- Make daily calls to the department manager to report progress on tasks.
- Pick up and deliver construction materials and equipment as needed.
- Assist with office purchases and other administrative tasks.
- Use navigation apps and GPS devices to find the most efficient routes; extensive knowledge of the NY Metro Area is a plus.
- Interact with clients professionally and maintain positive relationships with them and inspectors.
- Maintain an organized travel schedule.
- Ensure vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use.
- Arrange vehicle repairs and conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks.
Work Environment:
- You'll work on active construction sites and occasionally in a soils/concrete testing lab, so expect to get dirty and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Tasks may include handyman/landscaping duties, coring concrete/asphalt samples, and assisting construction material and machine shop personnel.
Physical Requirements:
- Long periods of standing and repetitive motions are required.
- Ability to use hands for tasks such as handling, climbing, balancing, crouching, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and sitting.
- Good vision (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception) and sense of smell.
- You may drive hundreds of miles per day and regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, frequently move 60-80 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds (like a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples).
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of driving experience in similar vehicles, with at least 1 year of driving experience in NYC.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: From $18.00 per hour
- Expected Hours: 40 50 hours per week
- Day Shift: Starts at 5:30 a.m.
- Location: In-person
