Job Description:

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate.
• Recent Medical Office Experience: 1-2 years (required).
• Spanish-speaking required.

We seek an experienced Front Desk Receptionist/Business Office Float for our office in Mountainside, NJ.

General Purpose of Position: The receptionist's clerical role is responsible for promptly, courteously, and professionally receiving incoming telephone calls and greeting/assisting visitors in the same manner. Other office duties will be assigned as deemed necessary.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Phone management, including answering, appointment scheduling, proper call routing, and screening patient requests.
• Review the schedule in advance to avoid conflicts.
• Confirm that all charts are ready and have the appropriate paperwork.
• Address patients in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Daily tasks include confirming appointments, verifying the ID of each patient, completing medical record requests within 72 hours, keeping infection control records, and printing operative reports.
• Maintain professionalism while at the front desk at all times.
• Maintain flexibility to cover other receptionist shifts and callouts/vacations.
• Other duties as assigned, such as scheduling and insurance verification.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have experience in a medical office or a surgical center.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, surgical center, or medical office.
• Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and/or patients by working with them to identify concerns and appropriately direct calls.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and organizational skills.
