Vice President of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering

Munich Airport NJ LLC is an US-based subsidiary of the German Airport Operator Munich Airport. Munich Airport NJ LLC is responsible for the maintenance and concession management of Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)! We are looking for a Vice President of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering to join our team as soon as possible.

VP of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering

You will be a part of a dynamic team, helping to enhance travelers’ journeys by providing best-in-class airport services and elevating travel experiences beyond expectations.

Your Future Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Technical Service Department and staff.
• Operate and maintain facilities and systems of Terminal A (landside, airside and apron) and oversee design, delivery, testing and commissioning of new facilities and systems.
• Develop and manage budget for facility management and maintenance services and develop and implement smart solutions to improve technical operations and increase productivity.
• Formulate, calculate and negotiate external service contracts (in alignment with other Terminal Operator departments) and oversee and operate facility management and maintenance (inhouse and outsourced contracts) and ensure quality of service delivery.
• Assess and implement technical requests by Operations Department based on cost-benefit analysis.
• Perform financial approvals on work orders on repairs.
• Perform SAP approvals for FM.
• Perform management and HR duties FM employees including reviews, time sheet approvals and disciplinary actions.
• Manage the service providers working within Terminal A and increase their performance.
• Act as a building expert for all the systems within the terminal.
• Manage the Terminal A Lifecycle Asset Management Plan including the planned and predictive maintenance of all the terminal assets
• Oversee the maintenance within the terminal, coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that all work is managed and documented.
• Review the maintenance program and introduce innovation and technology to reduce maintenance costs
• Leverage the SCADA system(s) installed at Terminal One and be responsible to fully integrate these systems with their installation of MAXIMO to facilitate a predictive maintenance-based model to the greatest extent possible

Your Education & Training

• Master’s degree in Engineering Management
• 5 years of years of related experience required, including experience with managing technical operations and managing engineering staff.

Your Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

The base salary range for this role is $150k to $200k. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for annual salary increases and bonuses. Employees are eligible for them and eligible dependents to enroll in medical, dental, vision and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) benefits as of DAY 1 . Employees are also eligible for our 401(k) plan, which includes a company match, after six months of service. The employer also provides life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with NJ and federal law. Our robust time-off policy includes paid time off and 12 paid holidays. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
