ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens ER Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
• Location: Newark, NY 14513 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Emergency Department – Combined Adult/Pediatric
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
• Total Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960 per week
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Floating: Required to other units as needed

ER Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (required for ER nursing jobs)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (travel nursing requirement)
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

ER Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform triage, assessment, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Manage acute conditions including dysrhythmias, stroke (CVA), orthopedic trauma, abdominal pain, asthma, drug overdose, and acute psychosis
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Perform arterial and central line management, chest tube insertion/management, intubation, and ventilator care
• Initiate isolation precautions and respond to mental/behavioral health emergencies, including psychiatric holds and suicidal patients
• Start IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage continuous IV sedation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
• Float to other hospital units as required
