Tax Specialist

Kforce's client, a Publicly Traded Financial Services Company located in Parsippany, NJ is expanding and looking for a Tax Specialist. This role will be 2 days in the office & 3 days work from home. Summary: This person will support tax accounting and compliance activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. This role prepares and reviews income tax provisions, reconciliations, compliance filings, and related financial disclosures, while assisting with audits and process improvements. All duties and responsibilities are performed in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Specialist will prepare and assist in the review of federal and state income tax provisions, including current and deferred taxes and provision-to-return reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly and annual tax-related financial statement disclosures and supporting analysis
• Support federal and state income tax compliance activities, including return preparation, estimated payments, and extensions
• Assist with audit support for federal and state tax matters, including gathering documentation and coordinating with external auditors
• Perform tax-related analysis to support financial reporting and compliance requirements
• Prepare and review selected state and local tax filings, including returns, estimates, and extensions
• As a Tax Specialist, you will support internal controls and compliance documentation related to tax processes
• Identify opportunities to streamline tax reporting and compliance processes through automation and improved documentation
• Assist with tax reporting and audit support related to employee benefit and organizational plans, as applicable
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant tax accounting experience
• Experience with tax provisions, reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures
• Strong understanding of income tax accounting and compliance processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
