Registered Dental Hygienist

We’re hiring a dental hygienist who can help us provide incredible dental care to each of our patients! You’ll conduct preliminary dental exams, help dentists with examinations and procedures, and perform thorough dental cleanings so patients walk out with a smile. • Protect patients’ teeth by thoroughly cleaning them and applying fluoride or other sealants
• Disinfect all dental instruments to ensure cross-contamination does not occur
• Take x-ray images of the patients’ teeth to help dentists identify any oral health issues like cavities
• Create dental impressions of patients’ teeth so veneers, mouthguards, etc. can be made correctly
• Give guidance to patients about how to have good dental care at home after undergoing an operation or procedure
• Talk with patients to make sure they are comfortable and have all their questions answered
• Help to identify dental issues such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or cavities so they can be treated as soon as possible
• Give guidance to patients about how to have good dental care at home
• Prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease by providing a thorough dental cleaning and applying protective sealants, fluoride, and Arestin as needed
• Conduct initial screenings of patients to understand their oral health history
• Make radiographs of the patient’s teeth
• Instruct patients on how to care for their teeth on a regular basis
• Treatment plan for patients' period treatment with the dentist
• Update the patient’s health history periodically and document clinical notes from appointments
• Clean and sterilize dental instruments
• Identify dental issues such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or cavities so they can be treated as soon as possible
• Document patient visits and keep health records current
• Educate patients of all ages on how to take care of their teeth through good flossing, brushing, and the use of WaterPik daily
• Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of before, during, and after the examination

Qualifications:

• Superb customer service and communication skills
• Associate’s degree and certification in dental hygiene program required, higher levels of education are highly valued
• Current CPR certification
• Possesses a state license to practice dental hygiene
• 1+ years of experience in dental hygiene work
