Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The technologist performs essential job functions, ensuring the highest quality of care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Restricts radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient using cone and collimating devices.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identifies patient films accurately and marks them for clarity.
• Develops exposed x-ray film by processing methods.
• Maintains an orderly x-ray room and completes associated administrative duties.
• Assists patients in mobility to and from x-ray tables as needed.
• Communicates effectively with patients and their caregivers at an appropriate level.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Must possess a New Jersey State License.
• AHA-approved BLS Certification.
• ARRT certification in Radiography (R.T.(R)).
