Princeton Baptist Church (PBC) is a church that seeks to follow Christ and transform its community by connecting with God, connecting with others, and connecting others with God. We have an average attendance of over 100 with over 20 children in regular attendance for Wednesday night activities and Sunday morning worship.
Position Overview
The Children’s Ministry Director provides leadership and oversight for all ministry activities serving children from birth through elementary school. This role equips parents to disciple their children while ensuring that every child experiences a safe, engaging, and spiritually nurturing environment. The director fosters meaningful connections within the church community and supports the faith development of both children and families. This position has the opportunity of being a full time position should the applicant choose to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the youth director role.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive children’s ministry program that aligns with the church’s mission and vision.
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and teachers for children’s programs.
Plan and coordinate weekly children’s worship, Sunday school, and special events (e.g., Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, family outreach).
Create and maintain safe and welcoming environments for children, ensuring compliance with child protection policies.
Partner with parents to support faith development at home and encourage family participation in church life.
Manage the children’s ministry budget, curriculum selection, and resource materials included but not limited to supplies and snacks.
Collaborate with pastoral staff and other ministry leaders to integrate children’s ministry into the broader life of the church.
Communicate regularly with families, volunteers, and church leadership about ministry updates and opportunities.
Assisting teacher volunteers during regular programming as needed.
Qualifications
Strong personal faith and commitment to the mission of the church.
Experience working with children in a ministry, educational, or childcare setting.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to recruit, motivate, and equip volunteers.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
Bachelor’s degree in education, ministry, or a related field preferred.
Able to work well under pressure.
Obtain CPR certification either prior or within 1 year of commencement.
Work Schedule- This position may include regular office hours, Sunday services, and occasional evening or weekend events equaling out to 20 hours weekly.
Salary- Compensation for this position will be competitive with current market salaries for similar roles in our area.
