Production Leader

• $20.50 / hour 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Production Leader to oversee and manage the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes in a nutraceutical environment. The Production Leader will ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and production schedules while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise Production Operations: Lead and coordinate the activities of the production team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 
• Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality specifications and regulatory standards. Implement and enforce quality control procedures. 
• Safety Compliance: Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions. 
• Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and develop production staff. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues in collaboration with HR. 
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials. 
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Lead lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives. 
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including batch records, logbooks, and production reports. Prepare and present production performance reports to senior management. 
• Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all production equipment is properly maintained and operational. Schedule routine maintenance and address any equipment issues promptly. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Quality Assurance, R&D, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing role, preferably in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required. 
• Strong leadership and team management skills. 
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
• Proficient in using production management software and MS Office applications. 
• Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements specific to the nutraceutical industry.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications are a plus. 

Work Environment:

• The role requires standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and noise.
• Must be able to lift and move materials as needed.
