Maintenance Mechanic

Work directly for a Somerset County NJ area specialty manufacturing company.

Maintenance Mechanic:

Position Overview:
This position is responsible for ensuring the continuous functionality of all production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment and machinery.
*Perform emergency repairs on all production equipment and machinery.
*Conform to all procedures regarding spare parts usage.
*Perform repairs and maintenance according to any and all OSHA and other safety requirements i.e.: lockout/tagout.
*Perform all maintenance and repairs in an accurate complete and timely manner.
*Maintain mechanical availability of all production equipment.
*Maintain mechanical availability of all facility equipment.

Other Important Responsibilities:
*Maintain a daily log of Preventive Maintenance and downtime through Computerized Maintenance Management System Simplicity CMMS
*Maintain a daily work log and EOD/end of day email report to Upper management.
*Assist the Parts Inventory Clerk with proper specs and info when sourcing parts for repairs and regular maintenance.
*Work with outside contractors during routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
*Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant situations.
*As required will install new equipment facility upgrades perform repair work as needed and support production.
*Engage and support companywide Safety and Cleanliness Programs.
*As part of the EMS- Environment Management System will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the companys recycling guidelines proper waste and other environmental performance practices
*Will be required to perform other job functions as assigned

Qualifications:
*Minimum 4 years of experience.
*Electrical Mechanical Welding Electro-Mechanical and equipment training a plus.
*High School Graduate required. Vocational Degree Preferred.
*Experience with a virtual work order and spare parts management system preferred.
*Strong analytical skills.
*Task oriented excellent organizational skills ability to prioritize workload.
*Enthusiastic attitude cooperative team player adaptable to new or changing circumstances professional demeanor self-motivated creative and innovative.

Physical qualifications and work environment:
*Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
*Must be able to sustain physical work for 8 hours on a standard 3 shift operation or 12 hours per day on 24/7 operation. Also includes the following:
oStanding
oReaching and pulling
oSight
oWalking through shop
oBending climbing and crouching.
*Office environment is of moderate noise level.
*Shop noise levels are such that protective ear-coverings are recommended.
*Sometimes subject to external weather conditions.
*Short notice overtime demand according to equipment or facility breakdowns.
*Repair work on heavy equipment often in a seated or standing position.
*Grease oil water exposure.
*Mechanics must provide all industry required hand tools and toolbox. Checklist will be provided. All specialty tools will be provided by the company.
