Associate / Staff Systems Engineer

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented systems engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Space Domain Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Candidates will develop, implement, and run engineering processes in support of a large Agile software development program. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in a collaborative environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical national security objectives.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Build Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models in Cameo System Modeler from software developer and customer input
- Work with internal stakeholders to generate robust software system requirements
- Analyze existing requirements to provide implementation guidance to SciTec software developers
- Create and review system design documents and systems engineering artifacts to deliver high value software to our government customers
- Analyze and document software for standards conformance and requirement satisfaction
- Perform risk management analysis on current programs
- Additional duties as required and assigned
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physical sciences or mathematics
- Knowledge of MBSE and the Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
- The ability to work with a collaborative team focusing on delivering customer value
- Detail oriented
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferredÂ
- Current Secret or higher DoD security clearance
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience as a systems engineer
- Experience working in a collaborative modeling environment using MBSE tools like Teamwork Cloud
- Familiarity with the Cameo suite of tools is strongly preferred
- Prior experience with support to or development of software applications in languages such as C, C++, or Python
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking
- Experience integrating systems involving external stakeholders (contractor partners, Government customers)
- Academic credentials or industry certification in MBSE, such as the OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP)
- Experience with the design or operation of space-based systems, such as Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor systems, ground segments, or exploitation tooling

The pay range for this position is $83,000 - $119,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
